When you here the word move, dollar signs may pop into your head. But there is a way to set a moving budget and stick to it, even if something goes wrong.
The cost of the actual move, meaning hiring movers, packers or transporting pets, should be planned out first. Decide what your “must haves” are and go from there. Write everything out first and come up with a moving plan. Take into consideration whether you are moving local or long distance.
If you rent a truck and do it yourself, remember to take in account gas and man power (you will at least need to provide drinks for everyone). Hiring movers, price is inclusive but you may also want to include a *tip or lunch.
For local moves you can cross off vehicle transporting services as well as day to day expenses for travel and food. But if you are moving long distance, those things would need to be considered along with pet transportation, if you have a furry family member.
*Atmosphere Movers never requires tipping, but as with most services tipping is a way for the customer to express their thanks for a job well done, so we’ve included it in considerations.
Best of luck! For more tips for moving on a budget, check out another one of our related posts.
